Formula Woman newsletter - 4th April, 2021

Welcome to this week's newsletter. Since we were last in touch we have received quite a lot of questions, especially over the Easter break, via our website and also through our social media channels. Hopefully all these have been responded to, but to help other applicants, here are a few answers and guidelines as you prepare for your Formula Woman adventure.

Personal Sponsors

Any Formula Woman who has secured a sponsor to cover their access fee, will eventually be asked for the name or logo of their sponsor prior to their assessment day. This will be applied to the car that you will drive or the helmet you are wearing for your assessment.

Many of you have asked if you can attract more sponsorship and the answer is yes of course, these are your own personal backers.

You may want to purchase merchandise, race wear or undertake a track day with Formula Woman, which we will be announcing soon, for those of you who want to be well prepared.

By having a personal sponsor, you will be able to do all of this without having to pay out of your own pocket.

If you are fortunate to be one of the six winners, then your personal sponsor will be with you all the way!

Media

There has been some confusion over local and regional media coverage.
To clarify, yes you are encouraged to create your own media coverage if you so wish. Again, this is what racing drivers have to do.

However, what we are doing is contacting your local media on an individual basis to let them know you have entered the competition, so we need to know if you DONT want us to do this. As you progress towards the assessments, we will also require you to sign a media disclaimer to allow our TV production company to film you during the competition.

Welcome Packs

For all who have applied to date, you should have now received your welcome packs apart from The North American applicants who should receive their welcome packs next week all being well.

You will see that your access card in the pack is numbered so please make a note of this number, as this is your access code throughout the competition. You will also be required to produce this card at the assessment.

Online Tuition

Your on-line tuition and assessment will soon be available (May 2021) and you will need your personal ID code to access the On-Line Portal.

There is an assessment after the tutorial, which will be relatively easy to pass, and if you don’t pass first time, you can attempt to do it again! Further detailed information will be provided in due course.

Merchandise

Formula Woman merchandise will be available very soon and will be launched on to F1.co.uk online store as well as on the Formula Woman website.

We also have some free stickers available, which allows you to promote the fact that you are indeed “A Formula Woman’.

Let Abi know if you would like some of these posting to you. Her email is on the Formula Woman contact page.

Track Days

Some of you have asked if you are allowed to undertake track days prior to the assessments. We can’t stop you and we don’t want to stop you.

However, we are about to launch the iZone opportunity, where you will be able to go to their Silverstone headquarters and use their simulators.

We will also be hosting some Formula Woman track days at various tracks across the UK in our Mazda MX5’s and Project 8 Jaguars.

Details available on request from Lex whose email is on the Formula Woman contact page.

Social Media

Finally, as I’m sure you are all aware, Social Media is huge and very much connected to TV media.

We are looking for Formula Woman applicants who are prepared to do a piece to the camera on their phone, stating your name, occupation, where you are from and why you have entered the Formula Woman competition.

Anyone interested in doing this should contact Ed whose email is on the Formula Woman contact page.
