Formula Woman Assessment - 29th October

Please read the following statement from Formula Woman Founder, Graeme Glew.

IMPORTANT STATEMENT OF FACT FROM FORMULA WOMAN

It has been brought to our attention that a handful of ladies have been mis-informed with fabricated information, which is totally inaccurate. Even social media posts can spread ‘Chinese Whispers’ and can create all sorts of negative assumptions. We would like to put the record straight;

The competition to race TWO McLaren GT4’s in GT Cup is fully sponsored and does not require the winners of the competition to bring sponsor funding.

Formula Woman is a business, which relies on commercial sponsorship and other revenue streams including coaching and training for women who want to develop their skills at a preferential rate in comparison to other track day operations. We will also be offering all Formula Woman members other exciting motorsport opportunities to develop our fast growing Formula Woman community.

Following on from the recent assessments in Anglesey, we can confirm that no decisions have been taken for any competitor to go through to the next round. The selection process will be mid December, after all the assessments have been concluded. The finalists will be selected fairly using the scoring system we have created for every single applicant including India, North America and the rest of the world.

There have been a few social media comments about the lack of karting in Anglesey. Whilst the karts were present, the circuit did not have the necessary insurance to operate them, so this assessment was replaced by one of our sponsors, TRICO, which was a non scoring fun challenge. This challenge will take place at all the assessments as a non scoring fun activity. The scoring system for our competition is heavily weighted towards the Corsa-e assessment, with the second level being fitness, followed by karting. The written test is for any tie break situations and the Media test is for TV formatting. Therefore, for Anglesey, the maximum scores for the karting have been added for every competitor to the Corsa-e challenge in order to level out the competition and make it fair for everyone. The alternative was to scrub the karting completely at each assessment but we didn’t want to reduce the level of competition in this way.

Motorsport is one of the most expensive sports in the world, it can also be addictive, as well as enjoyable. Formula Woman has been designed and developed to guide women with driving passion in the right direction, whether they get through to the next rounds or not.

We would ask any Formula Woman applicant to contact us directly if they wish to challenge anything we are promoting or offering to our members. Also, if you have any suggestions which will help us make the Formula Woman community grow and benefit our members, we would love to hear from you direct.

The organisers decisions are final.
