Formula Woman Newsletter - 21st October

Formula Woman is now heading towards a growing International community. It is important that all new applicants and competitors check the weekly newsletters, as there will inevitably be something in each newsletter for everyone.

We are so pleased to announce that the first overseas assessment took place last Saturday at Lime Rock Park Connecticut USA, so more will be following very soon. Ed and Johanna are coordinating these dates and venues.

CLOSING DATE FOR INTERNATIONAL COMPETITORS

The closing date for overseas applicants wishing to enter the Formula Womancompetition is 31st October.

All competitors waiting for assessment confirmations should keep an eye out for an email from Edward (please check your junk mail).

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITORS

A few International competitors have chosen to make the trip over to the UK in November to undertake their assessment at Bedford Autodrome. There are a few places on the 16th November and also on the 7th December for those still considering this option. Ideal if you have a sponsor to cover your flights!

WELCOME PACKS AND ASSESSMENTS DATES FOR INDIA

The welcome packs for India should have all been distributed to India Competitors. Your assessment will take place over two days – November 23rdand 24th. Please direct your enquiries to Auto Guru in India or you can email shloka@f1.co.uk.

KNOCKHILL CANCELLATIONS

Remarkably, there have been a few cancellations for the Knockhill (Scotland) November 1st assessment day. These cancellations are due to a variety of reasons, mainly related to health issues and unfortunately Covid.

So anyone desperate to get their assessment done sooner rather than later, we have three slots available.

Remember to bring your Formula Woman mask if you are competing at Knockhill.

November is fast approaching, final instructions have been released to all Knockhill competitors.

Formula Woman merchandise will also be available at this event, including a number of Formula Woman Teddies looking for a home for Christmas!

Please email mark@f1.co.uk

KARTING AT PF INTERNATIONAL (Grantham)

PFI is a state of the art kart track, the longest and fastest in the UK and we have it booked for a Formula Woman evening event (floodlit) on Thursday 4thNovember. So far we have a number of keen Formula Woman racers entered and there are a few places left, so if you’re in the mood for a challenge contact Lucy.

Another endurance event has also been penciled in for Sunday 12th December, but this one is for teams of 4, so let us know if you would like to compete with some of your new found Formula Woman friends!

Please email lucy@f1.co.uk

ONLINE PORTAL

As many of you will have seen, the online portal has gained massive support on the social side and many of you have formed different groups and seem very happy to communicate with each other.

There have been a few glitches, but Abbie is resolving these issues and also moderating the system.

It’s great to see all 28 countries involved with FW talking to each other as well as using traditional social media channels.

For more info email abbie@f1.co.uk

TRACK DAYS AND MORE

We continue to offer the new Formula Woman track days as they have proved to be so successful with pre and post assessment competitors. Some of you have asked about one to one instruction and we are working on something which will be offered very soon.

We have also been asked if we can offer a race licence course to all those who don’t get through to the finals.

Formula Woman is a growing community and we intend to put on many different events and seminars to get everyone in to motorsport. We appreciate that the sport is addictive and costly but we will continue to give every FormulaWoman opportunities at sensible prices whether you’re a McLaren driver or a track day driver.

STIRLING ECO

Formula Woman are about to announce a new partner – Stirling ECO bikes which are just about the coolest electric bikes on the planet! More news on this very soon but here is a preview picture.
