Important Competitor Clarification

One or two applicants have voiced their concerns on social media and direct to Formula Woman, that some competitors will have an advantage over others. They feel that those who have had some experience in the past and those who are currently undertaking track days, simulator days and karting events, will have an edge on the novice competitors in the Formula Woman competition.

This is NOT the case….why?

Formula Woman are looking for drivers with natural driving ability and from the details provided on your application form, competitors are divided in to two groups for the assessments – blue and green:

Blue Badge

For competitors who have had some limited previous experience on track or competed over 10 years ago. We will allocate your colour dependent on what you have told us in your application.

Green Badge

For competitors who have no track or motorsport experience and are classed as novice drivers. Colour allocated from your application.

Whether you have a blue badge or a green badge, our expert instructors will know if you have natural ability to go forward to the next level. There will be four other tests which will be scored and contribute towards your overall score.

Track Days, Simulator Sessions and Karting Events

One or two applicants have voiced their concerns that some of their fellow competitors have been able to have time and funding to prepare for their assessments. We have encouraged everyone who has applied to find their own personal sponsor, to allow those who can’t afford to do track days and events the opportunity to prepare well.

Motorsport is expensive and addictive, but what we have tried to create is a Formula Woman community to allow anyone from any background, of any age and of any nationality and race to learn, develop and compete.

The Formula Woman competition will result in six women given an opportunity to compete in a sport which has been dominated by males for over 100 years!

Formula Woman have created the learning tools for you, they are not cheap, and they are not free. Our sponsors have agreed to support the winners and we have created an assessment for you to see how good you are.

If any of you don’t make the next round, please regard the journey as an amazing experience and continue with your motorsport journey. The Formula Woman team are here to guide you, support you and develop you into a race driver.
