Formula Woman is now heading towards a growing International community. It is important that all new applicants and competitors check the weekly newsletters, as there will inevitably be something in each newsletter for everyone.

KNOCKHILL CANCELLATIONS
Remarkably, there have been a few cancellations for the Knockhill (Scotland) November 1st assessment day. These cancellations are due to a variety of reasons, mainly related to health issues and unfortunately Covid.
So anyone desperate to get their assessment done sooner rather than later, we have three slots available.
Remember to bring your Formula Woman mask if you are competing at Knockhill.
November is fast approaching, final instructions have been released to all Knockhill competitors.
Formula Woman merchandise will also be available at this event, including a number of Formula Woman Teddies looking for a home for Christmas!

For more info email abbie@f1.co.uk
TRACK DAYS AND MORE

Formula Woman is a growing community and we intend to put on many different events and seminars to get everyone in to motorsport. We appreciate that the sport is addictive and costly but we will continue to give every FormulaWoman opportunities at sensible prices whether you’re a McLaren driver or a track day driver.

Formula Woman Newsletter - 20th August
IZONE
Earlier week the management of iZone contacted us to alert us to the fact that one of their staff had tested positive for Covid so we had to pull the plug at the last minute for all the competitors who were scheduled to attend. For those who were scheduled to attend, all we can do is apologise for the short notice and hope this didn’t cause too much disruption.
However, the good news is that two alternative dates have been set 3rd and 13th September and Ed (Edward@f1.co.uk) will be circulating these dates to those who were booked in.
We are now living in a Covid world at the moment so it’s important we do everything to protect you and the Formula Woman team.
INTERNATIONAL APPLICATIONS
Formula Woman have competitors from 22 counties around the world, including North America, South America, Australasia, Middle East and Europe.
The European applicants have been invited to compete in the UK assessments and for the rest of the world we are working on a local assessment to be undertaken in your own country, although one or two of you are planning to join the Europeans at Bedford on the 16th November.
We are working hard to set the long-distance assessments up, and we are making progress, but please bear with us as we want to contact you personally to ensure the date and distance to be assessed is convenient.
INDIA
We are delighted to announce that India will be undertaking their own assessment day which has been designed and managed by Auto Guru in Mumbai.
There are already nearly 20 applicants from India who are all set to demonstrate their skills. Hopefully some will go through to the next round.
All overseas applicants can ask questions direct to Johanna@f1.co.uk and for India shloka@f1.co.uk
ONLINE TUTORIAL – HEALTH & FITNESS
A new addition to the online tutorial should be up and running next week, all being well. This one is focused on fitness, mind coaching and nutrition. Every applicant needs to log in to learn about the fitness and health requirements of a successful racing driver.
Also, those who have still to complete their driving course online should do so before they attend their assessment day. We know some of you are only half way through, which is fine, but please make sure you know what you should be doing on track before you try it for real!
GREEN & BLUE BADGE ENTRIES
Again we have to make it very clear that each competitor will compete in the competition either in the blue badge (for those with previous experience) and the green badge (for those with little or no experience)
Our assessment team and instructors are looking for drivers with natural driving ability with an attitude of wanting to be a sponsored race driver. If FormulaWoman, as the organisers, feel an applicant is over qualified, they won’t be accepted for the competition.
The criteria for entry is taken from the original application form.
TRADECENTRE UK AND TRADECENTRE WALES
Formula Woman are pleased to announce that one of the biggest, best and value for money car supermarkets in the UK, will be supporting FormulaWoman with two BMW’s for the Formula Woman Track Day training. In addition, the two cars will be used at the televised assessment days.
The two BMW’s will complement the Jaguar Project 8 days and allow more track time at different levels during the day.
PROJECT 8 TRACK DAYS
We announced the first pre assessment track days this week, although we could only announce 1 day at Snetterton on 1st September. There will be several more between now and November.
We know some of you were disappointed not to get in on the first one but we should have more dates confirmed early next week
Contact sam@f1.uk to get on to the list if you haven’t already.
RYLEY WEALTH MANAGEMENT (RWM)
Ryley Wealth Management have confirmed their continued support for FormulaWoman and will be present as the The Anglesey Assessment Days.
Their CEO David Ryley has committed to supporting initiatives which aim to promote and celebrate diversity in various industries especially in the motorsport sector.
This is a great addition to the Formula Woman portfolio so if you want to read the statement in full, visit the news section on our website.
Formula Woman Newsletter - 12th August
INTERNATIONAL APPLICATIONS
If you live out of Europe, you will soon be receiving a personal email from Formula Woman explaining what to do next and where and when you will complete your assessment in your own country. As you can imagine this is quite a logistical exercise, but for Formula Woman to have so many countries involved is amazing.
The scoring system we are putting in place will be loaded up towards your natural driving ability and there will only be a total of 50, possibly a few more, from Europe and overseas that will make it to the next round. If you are one of the lucky ones to make it you need to be prepared to travel to Europe which is where the final ‘shoot out ‘ will take place early next year.
The personal email you will receive will include a questionnaire which we need you to complete and send back to us please.
Remember, you are now a Formula Woman and even those who don’t get through will be given continued support and guidance from The FormulaWoman Team.
If you don’t receive your personalized email by the 20th August please contact Johanna@f1.co.uk.
TRACK DAYS
We have a list of women from the UK and Europe who would like to undertake one of our pre-assessment track days with one of our Project 8 Jaguars. Last week we did a trial run at Cadwell Park with two TV presenters, one who would be a green badge entry and the other a blue. In both cases the Jaguar proved to be too much too soon and the wet conditions didn’t help!
As a result we have acquired two suitable track cars to allow competitors to build up to the Jaguar performance on the same day. This will allow more track time in three different cars and more one to one instruction, which will be more beneficial than jumping in to one of the 650hp Project 8 ‘s, which is not the easiest car to drive especially when wet!
We will have a list of available dates, but those who have assessments on the 19th or 20th September at Anglesey will have priority.
ANGLESEY TRACK DAYS – 19TH AND 20TH SEPTEMBER
For those booked on the Anglesey assessments, there is an opportunity for you or your partners, friends or family, to bring your own cars to take out on track before or after taking your assessment course. This will be through Javelin Track Days who will be operating on the same two days. There will also be one or two cars available for those who want to have some fast lap passenger rides too!
This only applies to Anglesey assessment days not Knockhill or Bedford.
Anyone interested in taking advantage of this and would like further details should contact sam@f1.co.uk
MEDIA
The media attention around Formula Woman has been fantastic and many of you have generated your own media coverage to attract your own personal sponsors. As you all know the assessments are being televised and each test carries points based on your driving ability and other areas required to be a successful racing driver.
Media is an important factor so what we have decided to do is encourage you all to generate some media for yourself around your Formula Woman journey. It’s good for you and it’s good for us, especially as we are building a global brand.
So between now and your assessment, use our images, our logo and your story to see what you can generate. One of the simple tests at each assessment is a media test and you will be asked if you have managed to create a following from traditional media as well as social media.
We did this back in the old Formula Woman days to good effect and it’s easy to generate publicity for yourself locally and regionally and of course through Social Media. Sponsors love media coverage so see what you can do ladies!
Assistance on media exposure is available from Edward@f1.co.uk

All who attended expressed their interest in doing more of this type of event, so we may be putting more Daytona events on for October.
The next karting event is on the 25th August at Sandown, Esher, Surrey on Wednesday 25th August, where there is literally just one place still available.
To grab this place you need to email Edward@f1.co.uk first come first served!
Results from Daytona Raceway Milton Keynes 4th August;
1st Place; Molly Winfield
2nd Place; Emma Price
3rd Place; Kichelle Malone
TRACK DAY UPDATE
Many of you have been trying to register for the Jaguar Project 8 Tack track days we are organising. There has been a glitch with the email on this one, so enquiries for these days should go to Sam@f1.co.uk
Our resident TV presenter Nikki Dean, along with TV Presenter Grace Webb, came to Cadwell Park last week to try out one of our Jaguar Project 8 race cars. It is a narrow circuit and the track was wet which resulted in a few hairy moments, but both ladies experienced the thrills of both the Project 8 and Cadwell Park.
The format of the track days will be available in the next newsletter along with more exciting news about two additions to our fleet!
IZONE SIMULATOR DAYS
There are just a couple of places to fill at iZone (Silverstone) on Friday 20thAugust so if you would like to reserve a place contact Edward@f1.co.uk
The simulator days allow you to experience a variety of tracks, a GT4 McLaren and should be treated as educational and one step further from the online tutorial, which we note some of you have not completed yet.
You must complete the tutorial in order to progress to your assessment day. It is worth watching it more than once in order for you to be well prepared.
HEALTH, MIND AND FITNESS
This is a crucial area that is so important once you become a racing driver and very soon Sabine, Claire and Evy will be advising all Formula Womancompetitors what you need to be doing if you are to become a race driver.
This vital area of motorsport will include fitness, mind coaching and nutrition. The way this is going to be communicated is via the Formula Woman portal and follow on from the online tutorial you have completed already. This will be more of an information tutorial and will prepare you for your forthcoming assessment.
It should be online by the end of August, if not before, and accessed with your login details. We will keep you updated.
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITORS
The Formula Woman competition has been entered by women from all corners of the globe. Some of the women are determined to come to the UK and complete an assessment day and others will be completing their assessment day at their local kart track within their own country.
If you are an overseas competitor, we will be contacting you individually to make arrangements for you.
Those who are travelling to the Bedford assessment in November, please check Covid travel restrictions. Hopefully we will be getting to some kind of normality by then.
WELCOME PACKS
There has been a delay with the welcome packs which went to India, but this has now been resolved. However, there is still a hold up with some of the overseas applicants which is mainly down to new customs restrictions.
If you are still awaiting your welcome pack, please be patient we are working hard to resolve the issues.
COMMERCIAL PARTNERS AND YOUR OWN PERSONAL SPONSORS
Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing you to some of our commercial partners to let you know about their products and services.
Motorsport doesn’t work without sponsors, so this is a very important part of your learning curve.
It’s hard to find a sponsor, it’s even harder to retain and look after a sponsor. If you treat them well they will stay with you throughout your racing career.
For those of you who have secured a personal sponsor, if you haven’t already, you need to submit your prime sponsors logo to Edward@f1.co.uk
Formula Woman Newsletter - 29th July
VAUXHALL SUPPORTS THE FORMULA WOMAN COMPETITION
We were very excited to announce last Friday at CarFest North that the award winning, all-electric Vauxhall Corsa-e will be the Formula Woman assessment car for UK and European competitors. The Corsa-e is the ideal choice for training Formula Woman applicants due to its performance and green credentials.
The weekend at CarFest proved to be a huge success with Resident TV Presenter/Applicant Nikki Dean taking the Corsa-e around the track, and she too was left impressed by the speed and handling of the Vauxhall.
We will also be present for all three days of CarFest South at Laverstock Park in Hampshire between 27 – 29 August. For any Formula Woman competitors planning to attend, tickets can be bought via carfest.org and we look forward to meeting you if you can make it.
IZONE TRAINING DAYS
Last week’s session at the iZone Driver Performance Centre proved to be a great success. We are pleased that this activity has gone down extremely well with many of you so, we are introducing another date which is Friday 10thSeptember.
If you are interested, please email edward@f1.co.uk.
DAYTONA RACE EVENINGS
We can now reveal that all assessment days (including overseas) will include a karting test, so if you have never driven a kart before get some practice in if you can!
There are still a few places available for the Daytona race evenings which are exclusive to Formula Woman applicants, the dates and venues are:
Wednesday 4th August at Daytona Milton Keynes – 5pm start
Wednesday 25th August at Sandown Park – 5pm start
The race evenings will take place in Daytona’s race tuned DMAX karts, so if you would like to book yourself onto this then please email edward@f1.co.uk.
MEDIA COVERAGE
Many Formula Woman applicants have generated media coverage with their local and regional media. This is important for attracting your own personal sponsors and we encourage every applicant to do this. For all those who get through to the final rounds, this will be a major part of your Formula Woman journey.
If you are someone who has appeared in the media as a Formula Womanapplicant, then please email edward@f1.co.uk to let him know. If you need some guidance in this area email Edward and he will give you some advice.
INDEMNITIES AND RELEASE FORMS
As with any televised competition and motorsport related activities, each competitor will be required to sign circuit indemnity forms and TV release forms which we will distribute electronically in the coming weeks.
Once you receive these forms, please read through them carefully before sending them back to us with your signature.
ASSESSMENT DAYS
The dates and venues for the Formula Woman assessment days are as follows:
Sunday 19th September – Anglesey Circuit (Track Day available for partners or friends)
Monday 20th September – Anglesey Circuit (Track Day available for partners or friends)
Monday 1st November – Knockhill Racing Circuit
Monday 15th November – Bedford Autodrome

Mark@f1.co.uk has now commenced allocation of assessment days based on your geographical location. For all those who have had their allocation date at Anglesey (Sept) confirmed, you will soon be receiving final instructions.
MIND COACHING, NUTRITION AND FITNESS
The next step towards your assessment days is being well prepared in your head! In other words, some mind coaching, how fit are you and the importance of nutrition. Some of you are probably super fit and most of you will not be race ready. Don’t worry, the assessments won’t include anything strenuous just some basic guidance more than anything on the day.
Formula Woman have taken on board three specialists in this area;
Sabine Tyrvainen, Claire Johnson and Evy Roe will be creating some pre assessment exercises for you to undertake over the next few weeks to prepare you for your big day. Becoming a race driver is not just about being able to drive fast, there is so much more and we want to give you as much advice as possible in all areas of the sport. Watch out in the next newsletter for more information.
TRACK DAYS
The track days we are organising are causing us a few headaches in terms of finding venues as the circuits are so busy since the world is slowly coming back to some kind of normality. However, our Jaguar Project 8 race cars are ready and throughout August, September and October these will be available.
Samantha@f1.co.uk has been inundated with requests and we are working very hard to accommodate those of you who have applied for a slot.
Formula Woman Newsletter - 21st July 2021
Important Competitor Clarification
One or two applicants have voiced their concerns on social media and direct to Formula Woman, that some competitors will have an advantage over others. They feel that those who have had some experience in the past and those who are currently undertaking track days, simulator days and karting events, will have an edge on the novice competitors in the Formula Woman competition.
This is NOT the case….why?
Formula Woman are looking for drivers with natural driving ability and from the details provided on your application form, competitors are divided in to two groups for the assessments – blue and green:
Blue Badge
For competitors who have had some limited previous experience on track or competed over 10 years ago. We will allocate your colour dependent on what you have told us in your application.
Green Badge
For competitors who have no track or motorsport experience and are classed as novice drivers. Colour allocated from your application.
Whether you have a blue badge or a green badge, our expert instructors will know if you have natural ability to go forward to the next level. There will be four other tests which will be scored and contribute towards your overall score.
Track Days, Simulator Sessions and Karting Events
One or two applicants have voiced their concerns that some of their fellow competitors have been able to have time and funding to prepare for their assessments. We have encouraged everyone who has applied to find their own personal sponsor, to allow those who can’t afford to do track days and events the opportunity to prepare well.
Motorsport is expensive and addictive, but what we have tried to create is a Formula Woman community to allow anyone from any background, of any age and of any nationality and race to learn, develop and compete.
The Formula Woman competition will result in six women given an opportunity to compete in a sport which has been dominated by males for over 100 years!
Formula Woman have created the learning tools for you, they are not cheap, and they are not free. Our sponsors have agreed to support the winners and we have created an assessment for you to see how good you are.
If any of you don’t make the next round, please regard the journey as an amazing experience and continue with your motorsport journey. The Formula Woman team are here to guide you, support you and develop you into a race driver.

Track Days
Samantha Sims has taken over organising the forthcoming track days which will commence in August and carry through into September, for those who wish to have some professional pre-assessment day tuition.
We will be using our Jaguar Project 8 race cars, which are about as close as you can get in terms of power to a McLaren GT4 race car.

What is included:
Track Hire
Fuel
Tyres
Instructor
Data Engineer
Insurance
Garage
Mechanic
Transportation of car and use of car

Normally the cost of this would be £950 but Formula Woman is subsidising these sessions at £450 + Vat. Some of you will use your own personal sponsors to cover the cost but we recommend a session will be invaluable to all those who are enthusiastic and want to learn as well as prepare for your assessment.
To provisionally book a track day; Samantha@f1.co.uk.
British Grand Prix
For those of you joining us at the British GP, Silverstone have been a bit slow releasing tickets, by the time you read this weekly newsletter, you should have had your e-tickets, although VIP car parking tickets can not be emailed, so there is likely to be a collection point allocated at this late stage.
However the car parking is Car Park 26 which will be sign posted. For reference, Car Park 26 is on the outside of Copse Corner at Silverstone. You will then walk to Brooklands Suites which is on the inside of the circuit (Via Tunnel or pedestrian bridges).
If you have booked your places and still have not received your e-tickets please contact; mark@f1.co.uk.
Karting & Simulator Days
We can reveal that the assessment days will include a karting test, so we recommend you try to get some practice. There are still some places at Daytona Milton Keynes on Wednesday evening 4th August.

Contacts and Questions
Remember, if you have any questions DON’T respond to this email, simply go to the website click on contact and you will see our team’s individual email address’s with what they are responsible for. You should receive a response within 24 hours.
CarFest North & South
Formula Woman will be present at CarFest where we will be announcing the chosen car for the UK assessments.
CarFest North is at Bolesworth Castle in Cheshire and CarFest South is at Laverstock Park in Hampshire. So if you’re not attending CarFest watch out on social media on the 23rd July!
Overseas Applicants
Formula Woman applicants are present in 21 different countries around the world with a strong presence in North America and India. We will be contacting all overseas applicants individually, to let you know how, where and when your assessment will take place.
Personal Sponsors
We have had a lot of questions about sponsorship and just to be clear, those who have secured a personal sponsor, you will be allowed one logo in a prominent position for your assessment day. In August you will be requested to email your sponsors logo or name so that we can reproduce and apply accordingly.
There is nothing wrong with you attracting multiple personal sponsors, this is ideal to cover your pre-assessment activities such as Daytona karting, Series Elite track days and iZone Simulator days. £1000 sponsorship would buy you a lot of track time!
One of our partners Lush Creative Conception produce all our presentation and advertising material and they have offered their services to Formula Woman applicants that wish to have a sponsor deck professionally produced. Should be regarded as an investment and it’s not as expensive as you think.
If you need advice or our recently created sponsor guidelines contact shloka@f1.co.uk.
Formula Woman Newsletter - 1st July 2021
Sponsors
Many Formula Woman competitors have been asking us about sponsorship and this is something we do encourage, because Motorsport relies on sponsors.
We are in the process of acquiring commercial partners for Formula Woman, which include the assessments, the TV Series and the two car GT Cup team for 2022
Formula Woman applicants have been invited to acquire their own personal sponsors which is to assist in any pre assessment activities such as the British GP hospitality, Daytona Kart Days, Track Days, iZone Simulator and any other events we organise for you.
Therefore, all applicants who would like to receive guidelines on attracting a commercial sponsor, we will soon have something available for you.
Email Shloka@f1.co.uk for further details.
Simulator Days

TV Information
Indemnities and TV Release Forms
As with any televised competition and motorsport related activities, each competitor will be required to sign forms which we will distribute electronically before the assessments commence.
These forms should also be accompanied by a head and shoulders picture of yourself, preferably smiling rather than a passport serious picture.
No need to do anything about this at the moment, we will send out the forms later in the month.
Track Days
Daytona Karting & Project 8 Track days
The Karting days are filling up with enthusiastic Formula Woman competitors. We can reveal that there will be a karting test at the assessments, so if you can’t make the dates we have organized for you, see if you can find a local karting facility where you can get some practice before you attend your assessment day.
The track days we are organising will be in Jaguar Project 8’s, as we think it’s better to get the feel of a powerful car beforehand. This is about as close you will get to a McLaren GT4.
These dates should be offered in the next newsletter and should be available at several circuits across the UK. We have a list of those who are interested so we will forward information to you as soon as we have more details.

Whatever happens, you have become a Formula Woman and you are part of a very unique group of like-minded women, all keen to start the Formula Woman adventure. Our team are all ready to meet the first applicants at Anglesey in September.

Assessment Day - Asked & Anticipated Questions - in no particular order
I cannot make it to Anglesey, can I go somewhere else?
Yes, we have assessments in England, Scotland, and Wales so look out on the weekly newsletters for forthcoming dates and venues.
I have heard there is to be an assessment in the south of England, can I wait for that one?
Yes, but this is likely to be in November and some competitors want to proceed with their assessment sooner rather than later.
When will you release the dates for the other assessments?
Hopefully towards the end of June.
I have booked for Anglesey, can I change my mind and go to a track nearer to home?
You can, but only if you live in the south of England or Scotland
Can I come to more than one assessment day?
No, as this would be unfair within the competition rules.
Will I be there all day?
Yes, almost, as you will have 5 separate tests to complete.
If not, what time do I have to be there?
We will be allocating two starting times depending on how far you must travel.
Can my friends and family come to support me? If so, how many?
This is possible at the Wales and Scotland venues, but not the English one at this moment in time (TBC).
Where can they watch me from?
They can watch from trackside.
Do they have to pay if they want to come and watch?
No, they do not.
I haven’t been able to secure sponsorship, will this be a problem?
Not at all. The only reason we encourage sponsors is to allow you to reduce your own costs for travel and any events/track days you choose to take part in.
I have secured sponsorship, what coverage will they get?
You will have to submit your sponsors logo which we will have produced and located in a prime position for your assessment.
I have a personal sponsor, can they come with me?
They will only be able to attend the Wales and Scotland assessment days at this moment in time.
Will the sponsor get footage of me in the car showing their logos?
Yes, providing you have submitted your sponsor’s logo.
I have a friend who is a photographer, can she or he come with me?
At the Wales and Scotland days – yes!
Where can they buy tickets?
They don’t need tickets, we just need to know their names for access to the venue.
What do I need to wear?
Shoes suitable for driving, clothing suitable for in car and outdoors as the weather will be unpredictable!
Can I bring my own helmet?
Yes, we will supply disposable balaclavas and we will have a supply of helmets too.
What do I need to bring with me?
Your Formula Woman access card, your facemask, and your driving licence.
Are meals provided?
To competitors, yes, but not to guests however catering should be available on site.
I have never been on a track before, can I have a practice run?
Your driving assessments include a brief practice run with professional instruction.
Do you suggest we have track practice beforehand?
You can buy in to one of our track days which will be available on our website soon.
Are vehicles provided for us?
Yes.
What cars will we be driving?
As Formula Woman is being televised, this won’t be announced until nearer to your assessment.
Which track layout is being used?
Short and relatively simple track layouts, nothing too technical!
Where can I stay?
There are hotels and B&B’s close to each venue and we have an accommodation/travel member of our team to assist.
Can I bring my caravan/motorhome? If so, where can I park it?
By pre-arrangement, this may be possible.
When will I know if I am through to the next round?
December 2021, pre-Christmas.
How is the TV series going to work?
Like any new TV concept, nothing will be revealed beforehand. A film or new series only reveals snippets leading up to transmission, so in other words, we can’t tell you!
I live out of Europe, how does this work for me?
You will go through a similar process (application, welcome pack, and online tutorial), but your assessment will take place at a pre-defined venue local to you. We have a global representative to assist with each overseas applicant.
FINALY IF YOU HAVE FURTHER SPECIFIC QUESTION PLEASE GO TO THE CONTACT PAGE ON THE FORMULA WOMAN WEBSITE. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL AS IT MAY DELAY A RESPONSE.
